Technology firm Red 6, which earlier this year received an investment from Lockheed Martin Ventures, said today retired Air Force Gen. Mike Holmes has joined its advisory board.

Holmes completed his Air Force career as commander of Air Combat Command.

Earlier this year, the Santa Monica, CA-based Red 6, which specializes in synthetic training, said it would use funds from Lockheed to "accelerate the development and commercialization of Red 6's ATARS (Airborne Tactical Augmented Reality System)."

Red 6 said it has been working with the Air Force's AFWERX program for two years.
