Bluestone taps Kelly to serve as chairman of Intrepid Solutions

Private-equity firm Bluestone Investment Partners is set to announce today it has named contracting veteran Dennis Kelly to serve on its board of advisers and as executive chairman of its portfolio company Intrepid Solutions and Services.

Kelly was president and chief operating officer of Centauri before it was acquired by KBR. He has also been a top executive at Anteon, A-T Solutions, Buchanan & Edwards and PAE, among others.

In an interview with Inside Defense, Kelly said he will be working with Intrepid's leadership team "to both grow the business through organic means and look for some interesting acquisition targets."

The Herndon, VA-based Intrepid offers cybersecurity, data analysis and intelligence training services to intelligence agencies.

Kelly said he expects the company to remain focused on that market and that he sees opportunity in bolstering the company's artificial intelligence and space-related capabilities.
