Kastner to succeed Petters as HII's CEO

Huntington Ingalls Industries Chief Operating Officer Chris Kastner has been promoted to president and chief executive officer, the company announced today.

Kastner has been COO since February 2021. He will replace current CEO Mike Petters effective March 1. Petters will become executive vice chairman for a transition period expected to last through the end of the calendar year, according to the company.

Petters has been in charge of HII since Northrop Grumman spun off its shipping business in 2011.
