Gen. Thomas Bussiere and Lt. Gen. Shawn Bratton will become the next Air Force vice chief of staff and Space Force vice chief of space operations, respectively, pending Senate approval.
Bussiere is the current commander of Air Force Global Strike Command and Bratton is the deputy chief of space operations for strategy, plans, programs and requirements.
The VCSO position is open as President Trump tapped the current VCSO Gen. Michael Guetlein to lead his Golden Dome homeland defense effort.
Earlier this year, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth axed former Vice Chief of Staff Gen. James Slife. Slife, along with several other officials, was fired with little explanation.
