Boeing working on conceptual design for collaborative unmanned aircraft

Boeing announced today that it is developing a new collaborative, unmanned aircraft platform that will serve in attack, logistics and other types of missions. The Collaborative Transformational Rotorcraft, which Boeing is calling the CxR, would be a “modular, unmanned, multimission autonomous tiltrotor concept” that would partner with rotorcraft such as an Apache helicopter, Chris Speights, Boeing’s chief engineer for vertical lift, explained to reporters last week ahead of the Association of the United States Army’s annual symposium in Washington.
