Sea-Based Missile Defense Test Postponed Until Next Year

The Missile Defense Agency and the Navy were unable to complete the latest test of the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System today because of an incorrect system setting aboard the Aegis-class cruiser Lake Erie (CG-70), according to an MDA statement. The first of two interceptor missiles failed to launch due to an "incorrect configuration," the Dec. 7 statement notes.
