DOD Seeks New Non-Lethal Weapons to Clear Buildings, Stop Vessels

The Defense Department is seeking industry ideas on non-lethal weapons capable of securing buildings and keeping small ships at a distance, according to a broad agency announcement released today. Officials in the Pentagon's joint non-lethal weapons directorate want to "stimulate" applied research, development and rapid prototyping with the goal of creating "next-generation non-lethal weapons and capabilities," the document reads.
