Navy Secretary Donald Winter will remain in his position until March 13 unless President-elect Barack Obama names his successor beforehand, Inside the Navy has learned. Winter, a former defense industry executive, has served as Navy secretary since January 2006. Obama has yet to name replacements for any of the three military service secretaries currently serving as political appointees of President Bush.
