FY-13 OMB Fiscal Guidance Directs Agencies To Plan For Cuts Of 5, 10 Percent

The White House budget office has directed all department and agency heads to draw up plans for steep spending cuts in fiscal year 2013 by preparing budget proposals that assume 5 percent and 10 percent reductions to enacted FY-11 spending levels, reductions that if applied to the Pentagon could slash military spending to $477 billion in FY-13, a $94 billion cut to recent DOD plans.
