House Authorizers Want Army To Compete Future Interceptor Procurement

The Pentagon won't get additional funding it wanted for the Army's Accelerated Improved Intercept Initiative because Senate appropriators denied its request, however, House authorizers said they expect the service to hold a full and open competition to procure future interceptors, according to an Aug. 8 letter from the committee to the Defense Department comptroller.
