House Staffers To Get Briefing On Light Air Support Requirements

House Armed Services Committee staffers expect to be briefed in the near future on the requirements established by Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan for the Light Air Support aircraft program, which industry sources say will provide unsafe aircraft to Afghanistan. The $355 million Light Air Support (LAS) contract, to be awarded in early 2013, will provide 20 light attack aircraft to Afghanistan's air force.
