Less than 1% of CACI International's 23,000 employees have contracted COVID-19, the company's chief executive said today.

Speaking with analysts this morning, John Mengucci attributed the low rate to the company's efforts to continue work safely.

CACI said sales in its most recent quarter totaled $1.5 billion, up 7% from the same three-month period a year earlier.

The contractor's quarterly profit reached $94 million, up 38% from the prior year.

Meanwhile, Oshkosh said today sales in its defense segment during the most recent quarter totaled $607 million, up about 6% from the same three-month period a year earlier.

"The increase in sales was due to higher international sales and increased aftermarket parts shipments to the U.S. government," the company said.

Oshkosh reported quarterly profit in its defense segment of $54 million, up almost 8% from the prior year. The company attributed the growth to "improved product mix and the impact of higher sales volumes."

At Textron's Bell business, quarterly sales totaled $793 million, up about 1% from the same three-month period a year earlier. The company attributed the gain to higher military sales.

The unit recorded quarterly profit of $119 million, up about 8% from the prior year.

Textron Systems, however, said quarterly sales were $302 million, down about 3% from a year earlier, because of lower sales at its TRU Simulation + Training business. Quarterly profit was up about 29%.

Meanwhile, KBR said today sales in its government solutions business in its most recent quarter totaled $980 million, essentially flat from the prior year. Quarterly profit in the unit hit $129 million, up 17% from a year earlier.
