Air Force delays T-X FOC two years, re-phases trainer production

Higher budget priorities have delayed the Air Force's production plan for the next-generation T-X trainer, pushing full operational capability from fiscal year 2032 to 2034. The service announced in a March 18 Federal Business Opportunities notice that in order to "align the production schedule with Air Force strategic planning," it would delay its target FOC date for the T-X Advanced Pilot Training program.
