Army Aircraft Buys To Skyrocket in FY-05

The Army's decision to kill its Comanche helicopter program could result in a 70 percent increase in the amount the service will spend on aircraft procurement in fiscal year 2005, according to new budget documents submitted to Congress. The FY-05 budget amendment sent March 5 to Capitol Hill calls for Army aircraft procurement spending to jump from $12 million to $840 million.
