Army to Buy 4,000 Electric Vehicles for its Non-Tactical Fleet

Army Secretary Pete Geren announced today that the Army plans to lease thousands of electric vehicles for its non-tactical fleet as part of the service's larger energy security strategy. The Army will lease 4,000 neighborhood electric vehicles (NEVs) over the next three years, said Geren at a ceremony at Ft. Myer, VA, where the first six of the new vehicles were delivered today.
