Army Legislative Liaison Deputy Resigns Over Crusader Flap

Kenneth Steadman, principal deputy of the Army's legislative liaison office, has resigned for distributing "inappropriate, inaccurate and offensive language" in an attempt to lobby congressional support for the Crusader field artillery program, the Army announced today. His resignation came after the Army Inspector General determined a set of "talking points," drafted and distributed on Capitol Hill with Steadman's approval, "deviated significantly" from Army Secretary Thomas White's "general direction" to respond to congressional inquiries by reiterating the Army's support for Crusader,...
