DOD estimates OCX follow-on cost at $223M, works to mitigate delays to GPS MGUE program

The Defense Department estimates the cost of the GPS Operational Control Segment follow-on program at $223 million, according to a new report from the Government Accountability Office. The Space Force aims to award a sole-source contract to Raytheon Technologies, the current OCX prime contractor, for Block IIIF by March, according to the GAO report, which highlights the status of ongoing efforts to upgrade the GPS enterprise to utilize the secure military code signal.
