DOD launches pilot programs to find replacement for CAC card

The Pentagon has launched several pilot programs aimed at finding a replacement for the Common Access Card, or CAC, Defense Department Chief Information Officer Terry Halvorsen said. In a Jan. 11 media roundtable, Halvorsen said these pilots examine biometrics and behavior, but declined to provide more specifics.
