FCS Contract Will Be Restructured; Program to be Split into Three Parts

The Future Combat Systems contract will be restructured and the remaining elements of the program likely split into three parts, a senior Army official told lawmakers today. The Army is still waiting on official guidance from DOD acquisition chief Ashton Carter before it can renegotiate its contract with Boeing, the lead FCS contractor, but termination liability fees are not expected to exceed $1 billion, Lt.
