House 'emerging threats' chairman sets sights on Pentagon's AI policies, IT modernization plans

The new chairman of the House Armed Services subcommittee tasked with examining future threats and capabilities wants to see the Pentagon develop policies for using artificial intelligence and come forth with a plan for IT modernization, he told Inside Defense in an interview this week. Rep. Jim Langevin (D-RI), who now holds the gavel of the intelligence, emerging threats and capabilities subcommittee, said the panel "has a full plate of things to work on" in the new congressional session...
