Rep. Bob Stump (R-AZ), the vice chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, was nominated today by House leaders as the next committee chairman, according to Stump's office. House Speaker Dennis Hastert (IL) and other senior leaders chose Stump, a 73-year-old native of Arizona, to lead the committee in the 107th Congress.
