Littoral Combat Ship program commences full-ship shock trials

The Navy began testing this month off the coast of Florida the Littoral Combat Ship's ability to withstand underwater explosions. The tests, called full-ship shock trials, are being conducted on the "Independence" variant Jackson (LCS-6). The vessel completed the first of three scheduled full-ship shock trials on June 10, according to Naval Sea Systems Command.
