Navy accelerated acquisition effort will differ from Air Force, Army offices

The Navy's initiative to push promising, high-priority programs through the acquisition process faster than normal will be different from those of the other military services, as the maritime service will not set up a formal office to manage its accelerated projects. The Air Force and the Army each have staffed Rapid Capabilities Offices overseen by civilian or military leaders, similar to a program executive office, according to Allison Stiller, who is currently performing the duties of the Navy's acquisition executive...
