Navy releases solicitation for new, larger patrol boat

The Navy is soliciting offers from shipbuilders to initiate a 15-year effort to recapitalize coastal patrol boats used by the service's riverine forces. On March 3, Naval Sea Systems Command posted a solicitation to the Federal Business Opportunities website for the design and construction of Patrol Boat X (PB-X) craft. The contract is planned as a five-year, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity award for between 18 and 50 boats, depending on the funding the program receives, according to the solicitation.
