New study pushes Pentagon to embrace automated business operations

The Defense Department's business operations are far behind the private sector in embracing automation, according to a new study, which recommends the Pentagon initiate a review of automation opportunities within the department. The Defense Business Board's Aug. 2 report, "Implications of Technology on the Future Workforce," found automated business operations could help DOD make better, faster decisions, improve the quality of resource tracking and reduce the number of full-time-equivalent positions needed for business operations.
