Obama Nominates Ashton Carter for Top DOD Acquisition Post

President Obama announced today that he is nominating Ashton Carter to serve as under secretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics. Carter would succeed John Young, who has held the position since November 2007. Carter, who now teaches at Harvard's Kennedy School, served as assistant secretary of defense for international security policy from 1993 to 1996 in the Clinton administration.
