Omnibus spending bill accelerates LX(R), provides additional funding for Navy's UCLASS

The fiscal year 2016 omnibus spending bill includes funding to accelerate the Navy's amphibious ship replacement by two years and adds $300 million for the Unmanned Carrier-Launched Airborne Surveillance and Strike system. Accelerating LX(R) procurement by two years would allow the Navy to begin construction on the ship in FY-18 instead of FY-20. This would help support the shipbuilding industrial base by bridging the production gap from LPD-28, which will be built at Huntington Ingalls Industries' shipyard in Pascagoula, MS...
