Pentagon falling behind on crafting plan for cross-functional teams

The Pentagon may be falling behind on fulfilling a mandate from the latest defense policy law to find organizational and management efficiencies across the Defense Department, according to the Government Accountability Office. The Fiscal Year 2017 National Defense Authorization Act requires the defense secretary by Sept. 1 to form an organizational strategy for identifying critical objectives that could benefit from the use of cross-functional teams in order to ensure collaboration and efficiency across DOD.
