Service Officials to Work Out Details of Joint Cargo Aircraft Shift to Air Force

The Pentagon's fiscal year 2010 budget proposal, which was sent to lawmakers on Capitol Hill this week, puts the Air Force in charge of the joint C-27J Joint Cargo Aircraft program. It also reduces the total number of aircraft procured from 78 to 38. To date, the program has been managed jointly by the Army and the Air Force, with the Army serving as the lead.
