S&T Official Pledges To Redraft Policy On Military Research Security

A senior Pentagon official said today he is planning to redraft a controversial proposal composed this year to toughen safeguards on military research and technology. The draft policy, which began circulating this spring, concerned several research universities and some defense officials who say the 111-page document could go so far as to bar individuals from publishing unclassified research.
