MDA: Still no cost estimate for jointly developed missile interceptor

The Missile Defense Agency is planning a key developmental test of the Standard Missile-3 Block IIA interceptor this spring ahead of transitioning to production later this year, but how much the new weapons will cost remains an unanswered question. The ship-launched SM-3 Block IIA will conduct a second developmental flight test in the third quarter of fiscal year 2017, according to Rear Adm.
