The Coalition for Government Procurement last month sent the Section 809 panel a list of 30 recommendations for adapting federal regulations and improving the Defense Department's acquisition system.
The industry group delivered its recommendations to panel chair Deidre Lee in a Sept. 28 letter signed by Roger Waldron, the president of CGP. The recommendations follow three themes of "reducing unnecessary regulations on industry; empowering successful acquisition management; and strengthening interagency contracts to ensure that DOD contracting officers can make informed contracting choices," according to Waldron's letter.
CGP is "a non-profit association of commercial contractors advocating for 'common sense in government procurement,'" according to its website.
