The National Space Council will meet Oct. 23 to discuss progress being made to develop a Space Force.
Vice President Mike Pence announced the meeting today on Twitter, noting the council will discuss work done to date as well as the next steps to implement President Trump's call for a sixth military branch. National Defense University will host the event.
A National Space Council spokeswoman said more details on the meeting are forthcoming.
