Navy releases more information on tours with industry program

Navy Secretary Ray Mabus has released a new instruction in connection with a program that places servicemembers into large corporations for about a year to learn more about business practices and management techniques.

According to the document, the Navy "will be better prepared to meet future challenges if Navy and Marine Corps personnel are familiar with industry innovation and transformation to assist [Department of the Navy] senior leaders."

According to an October story published by the Navy, three participants began work last month with Amazon, while two others started with FedEx.
