Senate Armed Services Committee announces subcommittee chairs

The Senate Armed Services Committee today announced subcommittee chairs and ranking members.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) will chair the airland subcommittee, while Sen. Angus King (I-ME) will serve as ranking member.

The seapower subcommittee gavel, meanwhile, will pass from Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS) to Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) as Wicker has been named chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee. Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) will be ranking member.

The cybersecurity subcommittee will be chaired by Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) will be ranking member.

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) will chair the emerging threats and capabilities subcommittee, while Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI) will be ranking member.

The personnel subcommittee will be chaired by Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand will serve as ranking member.

Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK) will chair the readiness and management support subcommittee, while Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) will be ranking member.

The strategic forces subcommittee will be chaired by Sen. Deb Fischer (R-NE) and Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-NM) will be ranking member.
