The week ahead

The week ahead features several key congressional hearings and public appearances by defense officials, including some of the Pentagon's top European security experts and the chief of the Strategic Capabilities Office.

Tuesday

The Peter Huessy Congressional Breakfast Series will host a discussion with Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-IN).

The Senate Armed Services Committee will conduct a closed hearing with Adm. Mike Rogers, head of U.S. Cyber Command and director of National Security Agency, on cyber encryption.

Wednesday

The Association of the United States Army will host a breakfast with Lt. Gen. Michael Williamson, the military deputy to the services acquisition executive.

The Peter Huessy Congressional Breakfast Series will host a discussion Mike Rogers (R-AL).

The Center for Strategic and International Studies will host a discussion with Will Roper, chief of the Pentagon's Strategic Capabilities Office.

The House Armed Services tactical air and land forces subcommittee will hold a hearing on air dominance and the critical role of fifth-generation fighters.

The House Armed Services oversight and investigations subcommittee will hold a hearing on oversight of the European Reassurance Initiative.

The Atlantic Council will host a discussion with the chief of U.S. Southern Command.

Thursday

The Association of the United States Army will hold a “hot topic” conference on Army network readiness.

The House Armed Services strategic forces subcommittee will hold a hearing on nuclear modernization plans and budgets.

The Senate Armed Services Committee will receive testimony from outside experts on cyber encryption.
