STRATCOM will not pursue ORS-1 follow-on system

After contemplating a follow-on program to replace the first Operationally Responsive Space satellite, U.S. Strategic Command has determined it will continue to rely on "other assets" to perform the critical surveillance mission. ORS-1 has been on orbit since 2011 when it was launched in response to an urgent need from U.S. Central Command for satellite imagery.
