Pentagon, Lockheed announce $11.5 billion deal on F-35 Lot 11

The Defense Department has reached an $11.5 billion deal with Lockheed Martin to buy 141 F-35 Joint Strike Fighters in the 11th low-rate initial production lot. The F-35 joint program office announced today the contract brings the unit cost for an F-35A to $89.2 million -- 5.4 percent below the unit cost in Lot 10.
