The White House announced today it will nominate Gen. John Raymond to lead U.S. Space Command.
Raymond currently serves as head of Air Force Space Command. If approved by Congress, he would serve as the first leader of the newly reinstated SPACECOM.
Prior to assuming his current post in 2016, Raymond was the Air Force’s deputy chief of staff for operations. He previously served in the dual-hatted role of commander of 14th Air Force and U.S. Strategic Command’s Joint Functional Component Command for Space.
