Key Issues Budget 'parity' Summer CUAS demo EW in Ukraine
Northrop Grumman has conducted the first major design review for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent program since winning the contract in September to begin developing the new intercontinental ballistic missile system.
Northrop announced in a press release today it completed the design review in November with more than 100 people from the company and Air Force in attendance virtually.
“Achieving this milestone demonstrates our team’s commitment to deliver a safe, secure and reliable system to the U.S. Air Force on-schedule and on-budget,” Steve Lunny, Northrop’s vice president for GBSD, said in the release.
Northrop and the Air Force are now moving toward an integrated baseline review to establish technical and schedule expectations for the program.
GBSD is expected to begin replacing the legacy Minuteman III ICBM system in the late 2020s.
