House votes to give Navy three additional F-35s by cutting O&M funds

Through a package of amendments, House lawmakers have voted to authorize an additional three F-35C Joint Strike Fighters for the Navy. The decision comes via an amendment introduced by Rep. Marc Veasey (D-TX) to the fiscal 2023 defense authorization bill that would purchase the additional aircraft by redirecting $354 million from operation and maintenance accounts.
