Navy mitigated over-the-horizon missile issue following 2021 testing event

The Navy has fixed a component of its Over-The-Horizon Weapon System after an issue with the missile brought testing to a halt. The OTH-WS can be employed from either a Littoral Combat Ship or the future guided-missile frigate to engage maritime targets. The long-range missile provides the Marine Corps' Navy/Marine Corps Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System with a ground-based anti-ship capability, according to fiscal year 2023 budget justification documents.
